Rosh Hodesh: It’s a Girl
Thing! A values-based, experiential, and authentically Jewish program that strengthens the self-esteem and Jewish identity of adolescent girls. Jewish Family Service and Hadassah are pleased to
introduce to Cincinnati, Rosh Hodesh: It’s a Girl Thing!, a
national program that draws upon the tradition of Rosh Hodesh
celebrations to promote leadership skills, self-esteem, Jewish values and
issues relevant to adolescent girls. Who: 6th—10th grade girls in the Cincinnati Jewish community What: A professionally trained group
leader will facilitate fun monthly gatherings to explore: ·
Rosh Hodesh (the Jewish
celebration of the new Hebrew month) ·
Jewish
identity ·
The challenges of adolescence ·
Opportunities for building new friendships When: Groups
will meet monthly beginning in September Where: Rosh Hodesh groups will meet at a location
that is convenient for the girls in each group. The girls and their families will have input to determine
times that work best for that group.
Suggested times are: Sunday afternoon or evening, or an afternoon or
evening during the week. Cost: $100
per person annual fee.
