We proudly announce our 11th year and a new name!
Dr. Samuel S. Rockwern Passover Delivery Over 375 individuals need your donations of food, time and money.
Thank you to our volunteers and donors for joining
with Jewish Family Service to fulfill a mitzvah! You made the Passover
holiday complete for many families-in-need in our community - 428 meals
delivered!!
Full story, Dr. Samuel S. Rockwern Passover Delivery of Jewish Family Service
was adapted from a tradition that began hundreds of years ago to help
those less fortunate observe Passover. Today, there is a great need in our own
Cincinnati Jewish community. With support from local
Jewish agencies, congregations and youth organizations, Seder Boxes will be
delivered Sunday, April 5, 2009 to Jewish families and individuals who
would not otherwise be able to observe Passover. These special boxes contain a Kosher for Passover hot
meal, matzo, homemade charoset, wine, gefilte fish, macaroons and more. In the past ten years, we have served approximately 375 individuals each year. We expect the needs this year to be even greater! How can you help? First, by donating the money needed to purchase fresh food items that cannot be donated. We are off to a great start with a very generous contribution from The Rockwern Charitable Foundation. Your tax-deductible donation will help us reach the $45,000 we need to stop hunger in our community year-round. You can also help by donating your time. Join us as a
volunteer assembling the Seder boxes March 30 - April 3, 2009 or helping deliver
the boxes to the individuals and families on Sunday, April 5, 2009.
The preparation and delivery site will be at Cincinnati Hebrew Day School,
2222 Losantiville Road in Golf Manor. Dr. Samuel S. Rockwern Passover Delivery of Jewish Family Service
relies solely on contributions from the community. Without the support of hundreds of
individual donors, we could not offer to help so many. And now you can
help feed families throughout the year. We know that many
of those who need assistance at Passover may also need some support at other
times of the year. Jewish
Family Service Food Pantry provides kosher food once a month to families
and individuals in need. Won’t you please consider a
donation to help at Passover time and throughout the year? Download a Passover
