Jewish Family Service is proud to have a staff comprised of licensed, degreed social workers to provide counseling and care management services for all ages. And our uncompromising standards of professionalism always assure you strict confidentiality.

Who does JFS serve?

Jewish Family Service is a lifespan agency, so we serve families of all ages. We have particular strengths with adults and older adults. We operate as social service agency for the Jewish community but we welcome people of all faiths.

Are home visits available, or only in-office visits?

We can do home visits if there is a reason the patient cannot be seen in the office, such as lack of transportation or physical limitations. But our clients can feel comfortable knowing we have private office space dedicated for counseling sessions.

Are care management / social work services available too?

Yes and we have both social work and nurse care managers, and sometimes they work as a team to meet the patient/client’s needs. We serve people of any income as we offer private pay services to those that can afford to pay or pro bono services to those who cannot. 

What is the counseling payment model? Commercial insurance? Medicare? Medicaid?

We focus on Medicare-covered counseling, both original with a supplement and many, if not all, of the Medicare Advantage Plans. We provide some Medicaid under the PASSPORT and MyCare Ohio programs and are working to add traditional Medicaid. We have not moved into commercial insurance yet.  We do accept private pay for counseling as well.  One advantage of being a United Way and Jewish Federation partner is that we may be able to work with the patient on financial aid if co-pays are a hardship.
