Celebrating Passover is a beautiful tradition that requires special food to properly observe the holiday. However, it can be difficult for families living on a limited budget to afford the high cost of Passover food.
Jewish Family Service's Dr. Samuel S. Rockwern Passover Delivery Project seeks to ease this burden. Through community donations and volunteer efforts, essential Passover foods are provided to families in need, ensuring they can observe the holiday with dignity and tradition. Organized through the Heldman Family Food Pantry, located in the Barbash Family Vital Support Center, this initiative has grown to bring the spirit of Passover into homes across the Cincinnati region.
Volunteers assist with packing and delivering bags to clients in plenty of time for Passover. In this small but meaningful way, we believe we are bringing the holiday of Passover into the homes of vulnerable families and older adults throughout the Cincinnati region.
Our Passover Delivery Project is organized through our Heldman Family Food Pantry, located on the campus of Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion. The food pantry is operated out of our Clifton location, in our Barbash Family Vital Support Center. If you're in need of our services, please call us at 513-469-1188.
Dr. Samuel S. Rockwern Passover Delivery of Jewish Family Service was founded as Cincinnati Pesach Delivery Project in 1998 by a group of dedicated volunteers from Northern Hills Synagogue and Rockwern Academy (formerly Yavneh Day School).
You can help feed struggling families and individuals throughout the year. The hard truth is that many of those who need assistance at Passover also struggle with food insecurity at other times of the year. Jewish Family Service Heldman Family Food Pantry provides an emergency supply of food and personal care items to families and individuals in need. Won’t you please consider making a donation to the food pantry to help at Passover time and throughout the entire year?
